Land subdivision in Buenos Aires Province

Surveying, boundary determination, and boundary marking are often mentioned together, but they are not exactly the same. Understanding the difference helps you request the right service.

Surveying

Surveying (mensura) records and documents measurements, areas, orientation, location, and the parcel’s relationship with its records.

Boundary determination

Boundary determination (deslinde) identifies the legal boundaries of the parcel from documents, records, and measurement.

Boundary marking

Boundary marking (amojonamiento) marks those boundaries on the ground with boundary markers, marks, or reference points. It is useful before building, fencing, or resolving doubts with adjoining owners.
